Job Description Route Sales Representative - Material Handling Equipment - Richmond, VA, to Washington DC Imagine creating a 6-figure income for yourself (potentially achievable in 4- to 6-years) by building a new territory from Richmond, VA, to Washington DC. Here's how: It's 7 AM. You've had a great weekend with friends and family. Now you're pulling out of your driveway in your comfortable custom built 16-foot delivery truck heading toward your destination city for a great week in your career. Along the way, you'll call on clients and prospects in: · Food service distribution · Beverage distribution (soft drinks, beer, wine, water) · Dairy distribution · Parcel delivery · Warehouses · Automotive repair shops · Industrial facilities Your product line is high-performance, durable material handling equipment for moving goods the “last 100-feet.” Examples include hand trucks, lifts, carts, brake trucks, and more for moving pallets of product around warehouse, on and off delivery trucks, and into and around stores. (As an example, not too long ago I went to lunch, and the Coca-Cola delivery person was loading up a cart made by our client taking a dozen cases of soda and water into a restaurant.) As you call on prospects and clients you will: · Conduct on-site demonstrations · Assess, inspect, and repair previous products purchased by the client · Restock consignment inventory at client sites (the best type of program you can sell) · Assess current and ongoing needs to see if you can sell more product to help them · Provide additional ideas around maintenance, inventory management, repairs, upgrades, & replacements Early Friday afternoon you get back into your home city, restock your truck, get it clean and orderly for the upcoming week, and arrive home at 5 PM knowing you've just finished a great week and are ready to enjoy the weekend. Travel is Monday - Friday 3-weeks of the month (all expenses covered). The 4th week is in your home city, so it is just day trips. Your starting base salary is $50k with anticipated first-year commissions of $7k-$8k for a total compensation of $57k-$58k. 2nd year should be in the $60k range, 3rd in the mid-$60s to mid-$70s, and 4th year and beyond $80k routinely with spikes into $100k+. (The Florida representatives broke $100k in his 5th year and again in 2018, his 7th year.)
