The Staff Accountant responsibilities includes support of Mindseeker Finance and Accounting Department in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Collections, Cash Management, Commissions, General Ledger, Tax Compliance and other duties as assigned. Essential Functions/ Duties /Tasks: All tasks associated with accounts receivable (AR), Review of receivable aging on a weekly basis, work with all members of the team and client to resolve collection issues, All tasks associated with accounts payable (AP), Participation and oversight of cash management, Calculation and participation in employee commissions, Participation in banking reconciliation, accrued receivable data entry, record monthly depreciation and amortization, Review and reconcile revenue, cost and expenses based on Vertical market to ensure accuracy of reporting, Create ledger and sub-ledger accounts as needed for proper reporting of revenue, cost, and expense based on Vertical market and Client, Involvement with duties relating to tax compliance and 1099 and 1096 , Responsible for coordination and two-way communication with Mindseeker's Vertical Market leaders and staff to ensure client and employee's expectations are met and their experience is positive, Continue employee development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, networking, and participating in a professional organization, Promote Mindseeker's reputation as "best place to work," Adhere to Mindseeker policies and procedures as well as legal rules and guidelines, Other duties as assigned. IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING: 1 - Previous accounting experience processing AP and AR for a government contractor. 2 - Previous QuickBooks Experience. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business with emphasis in accounting preferred 1+ years of experience in accounting and/or finance Highly skilled with financial and numeric data, including mathematical ability Proficient in the use of technology such as Microsoft Suite and highly skilled in Microsoft Excel Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Mindseeker's regular business work days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Employee may be expected to work outside of the regular hours, depending on the needs of their business line.
