Legal Assistant Position Summary The Legal Assistant provides support to the enforcement and legal and regulatory departments. This position reports to Senior Counsel. Duties and Responsibilities Edits, proofreads, and checks citations in court and regulatory filings. Files pleadings and regulatory filings with courts and regulatory agencies. Conducts research and summarizes orders issued by courts and regulatory authorities. Manages documents and files; maintains integrity of highly confidential files. Tracks status of projects, legal and regulatory proceedings, and related deadlines. Assists with certain tasks related to organization membership. Assists with special projects as needed. Is familiar with and adheres to Information Technology Security Policies and procedures. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate will have: . Associate's or Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate or other paralegal training preferred. At least 2 years' experience as a paralegal. Ability to work with a team by anticipating needs and adapting to changing situations. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision. Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written). Willingness to accept high level of responsibility for own actions. Ability to make decisions. Strong word processing skills including ability to use advanced formatting with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Project preferred. Experience with PACER and FERC e-Library preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to proofread and perform quality assurance of documents. Additional desired attributes include: Detail-oriented. Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels. Other .
