As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Your responsibilities - Take part in various department-wide initiatives - Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision - Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management - Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Partake in annual closing processes - Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed - Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Grant accounting experience desired - Competent with spreadsheets and databases - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks - ERP system experience - Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus - Ability to meet deadlines - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Recent and relevant accounting experience - Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databasesAccountemps matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs at the best companies on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
