CRM is a global leader in responsible investing, with over $14 billion invested worldwide. Catalyzing positive change at companies in order to improve social and environmental outcomes, strengthen governance and improve investor returns is central to the work CRM performs. Calvert pursues a mission of improving the environmental, social and governance (ESG) characteristics and performance of companies in order to improve the company's ESG impact and strengthen our position as a long-term investor.The qualified candidate will join a diverse and highly skilled team of analysts and participate in driving positive change through Calvert's investment and engagement work. We recognize that qualified candidates are unlikely to have direct experience in shareowner activism. Knowledge of corporate governance structures, business analysis, an interest in ESG and a strong desire to create positive change are desirable traits.Primary Responsibilities:Corporate Engagement & Shareholder ActivismUsing both a systematic/top-down monitoring approach and a bottom-up research approach, identify publicly traded companies that can improve long-term financial results through better management execution on material ESG topics. Determine which companies offer the most attractive opportunities for Calvert to strengthen its position as an investor, and develop corporate engagement strategy for these companies ("subject companies").Implement engagement strategy by working with senior executives and board members of the subject companies. Track progress and report on milestones regularly and frequently to CEO.Prepare and file shareowner resolutions when needed to move the engagement strategy forward.Establish and maintain relationships with other activist asset owners and managers to build and participate within coalitions of investors and drive positive change.Investment Research & AnalysisProvide input and analysis to Calvert's investment research team on the subject companies.Assist proxy specialist in analysis of votes at subject companies.Provide analytics and data to respond to a variety of reporting needs (Sales, Marketing, RFPs, etc.).Assist with developing reporting and presentations related to engagement and proxy voting trends as needed.Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree required; CFA, MBA, or JD desirableAt least 10 years of experience, preferably in the investment industry or at a public companyBackground in corporate strategy and execution also desirableStrong knowledge of governance issues and an interest in environmental and social issues, with a desire to become an expertAbility to synthesize a wide variety of inputs, both internal and external, to distill key points and develop a compelling case for change.Persuasive communication skills and experience presenting to sophisticated corporate audiencesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects simultaneouslyA self-starter and critical and independent thinkerThis policy applies to Eaton Vance Corp. and all subsidiary companies (the "Company").The Company is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a work environment that is free of discrimination and harassment.
