Duties & Responsibilities Medical Science & Computing is searching for a Laboratory Manager to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is on-site in Bethesda, Maryland.Maintain laboratory equipment, including scheduled maintenance and calibration procedures. Request service for equipment when required.Organize, monitor and order laboratory supplies and reagents.Collect and maintain laboratory documents.Receive training and manage laboratory safety and waste in accordance to NIH policies.Carry out laboratory procedures according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Assist with the generation and updating of laboratory SOPs.Receive and process human and animal biological samples.Carry out and maintain primary tissue culture.Mouse handling, injections, euthanasia, colony management.Train new laboratory members in the correct use of equipment, application of techniques, laboratory protocols and NIH required training.Carry out experiments, record accurate observations; maintain records; summarize results.Participate in laboratory meetings. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or a related discipline.Minimum two (2) years of experience in clinical or molecular biology laboratory.Excellent work ethic.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to multi-task, set priorities and pay close attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills, readiness to work in collaboration.Experience as a laboratory manager would be an advantage.Experience with mouse models or cell culture would be an advantage.Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) would be an advantage.A Masters in Sciences degree would be an advantage.Medical Science & Computing is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
