BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Degree: You must have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (external link) (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (external link) (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. You must provide a copy of your unofficial transcripts. Failure to do so will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.
Dental License: You must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (external link) (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (external link) (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You must provide a copy of your license with your application. Failure to do so will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.
Medical Requirements: You must be able to distinguish shades of color.
In addition to meeting all of the minimum qualification requirements stated above, in order to qualify for this GS-15 position, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-14 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
- Providing leadership and guidance on a full range of medical and dental public health programs, projects, and initiatives related issues;
- Providing leadership in planning, directing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating medical and dental programs and initiatives;
- Developing program plans and strategies related to medical and dental programs, including processes and procedures to evaluate the quality and effectiveness in meeting program goals and objectives;
- Developing and implementing program performance measures and systems to track medical and dental program performance and outcomes;
- Providing consultation to management or senior staff on the development and execution of medical and dental workforce programs;
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
This position has an education requirement.
