  • Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
  • Applicants must meet time-in-grade, time-after-competitive-appointment and qualifications requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the vacancy to be eligible for consideration for selection. You must have a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.  You must have a certificate of proficiency from an organization authorized to issue such certificates or self-certify your proficiency.

    Applicant must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS 07, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to, utilizing automated systems in order to provide clerical and/or administrative support to management and staff; screening visitors and telephone calls; screening and responding to correspondence for appropriate action; typing final draft of correspondence and reports; proofreading outgoing correspondence to ensure correct grammar, spelling, and formatting; maintaining an office filing system; file tracking and making travel arrangements; maintaining and scheduling appointments or meetings; preparing agendas or other background materials for meetings.

    There is no substitution of education for experience for this position.
