Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirements of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions:
A. A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees AND
B. At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (This requirement can be obtained within the bachelor's degree or in addition to the degree.)
NOTE: The education requirements listed above apply only to individuals entering DoD 1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD, who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000, are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS-1102 on or before September 30, 2000, and members of the Contingency Contracting Force are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
Post Secondary Students: Students must be currently enrolled in a full-time program at an institution of higher education as defined in 20 U.S.C. § 1001 and provide proof of continuous enrollment (i.e., documentation of registration or tuition bill from the college or university) at the time of application and have completed at least one full year of their academic program. Students must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or greater, and making satisfactory progress towards the receipt of a bachelor's or graduate degree.
Recent Graduates: Recent Graduates must be appointed within two years of being awarded a bachelor's or graduate degree from a qualifying educational institution as defined in 20 U.S.C. § 1001.The two year period of eligibility will be extended to four years for veterans who have completed a period of obligated uniformed service of more than 4 years, and was awarded a degree by an institution of higher education not more than 4 years before the date of appointment.
Salary Ranges for each grade are as follows:
GS-07: $45,972 - $59,762
GS-09: $56,233 - $73,105

Post-Secondary Students on Term appointments may be non-competitively converted to a permanent, competitive service, career-conditional appointment upon completion of all academic program requirements. Conversion to a permanent appointment is not automatic, nor guaranteed.
Individuals selected for these positions may be required to sign and adhere to a program participation agreement and/or an individual development plan.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.
This position may be eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
