    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level ( GS-13 ) in the Federal service.

    Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience establishing, developing and publishing policy and guidance in the areas of S&S; experience reviewing, analyzing and assessing existing and proposed policies and objectives; experience providing guidance to upper level management on the implementation of policies and procedures.

    1. Skill in using analytical techniques and procedures to perform a wide variety of complex assignments related to development of S&S policy initiatives, which include analyzing legislation, directives, and departmental guidance affecting policy and procedures.
    2. Ability to respond to requests from senior management, organization heads, and Congress accurately.
    3. Ability to analyze new concepts, identify problem areas, and apply new concepts and techniques to security issues/events/problems.
    4. Knowledge of nuclear S&S regulations, policies, procedures, standards, and guides.
    5. Ability to utilize knowledge of S&S Policy major issues, program goals and objectives in order to ensure information developed or analyzed in response to requests from senior management, organizations, and Congress accurately reflects the department’s position. 
    6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to senior management and program management officials, and document findings of complex analysis in order to develop complex report of findings, justifications, and evaluations.
    7. Skilled in serving as a technical advisor to senior management.
