PUBLIC AFFAIRS ADMINISTRATOR
The Virginia Railway Express (VRE), a rapidly growing commuter rail operation connecting Washington, DC with Northern Virginia and surrounding counties, is seeking a Public Affairs Administrator. This position serves as VRE’s Public Information Officer, leading corporate communications efforts, overseeing community outreach, civic engagement, public relations, and internal and external communications, providing information to the public, employees, and the media concerning VRE services, programs and initiatives.
Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent punctuation, grammatical and attention to detail skills are a must as well as the professional understanding/usage of the English language to write and edit material of the highest standard.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Business Communications, Strategic Communications or related areas required. Advanced degree preferred. 5-10 years of related professional experience also a must, preferably in the transportation industry.
