Staff Education Specialist RN

Based on learning needs assessment, QI data and organizational initiatives and policies, the education specialist designs, coordinates and implements education.
Provides orientation for newly hired staff, and ongoing education to current staff.
Serves as a subject matter expert in behavioral health nursing. Participates in nurse leader meetings and initiatives. Collaborates with nurse managers, leaders and other education specialists in house-wide training / education.
Provides staff classes such as CPI, Mental health first aid, psych tech training, and professional development (certification review).
Role models leadership behaviors.
Collaborates with unit / department leaders in specific unit / department initiatives and strategic goals.
Participates in quality improvement, performance improvement and RCA meetings / sessions.
Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. In order to promote and maintain a healthy work environment, Adventist HealthCare will not hire applicants for employment who either state that they are nicotine users or who test positive for nicotine use.
