This position works in conjunction with service line or department leadership to develop and implement effective systems to evaluate and improve patient outcomes and quality care; provides leadership in the areas of quality improvement and supports the mission of Adventist HealthCare.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

•\tIdentify performance improvement opportunities that support National Patient Safety Goals and/or Adventist's Key
Result Areas (KRAs)
•\tFacilitate focused quality and performance improvement efforts in accordance with AHC's documented
Performance Improvement System (DMAIC) for assigned departments, units and committees. Effectively lead
projects and project teams to ensure timely, fiscally sound, quality improvement projects
•\tMonitor and assist in the preparation of status reports for monthly project review (measure monitoring)
•\tShare National, Regional, Local and Internal Best Practices amongst team members and departments
•\tConduct Tracers and mini Tracers to ensure compliance with WAH and AHC policy, TJC standards, and CMS/ DHMH
regulations
•\tProvide one-on-one customer service and area-specific coaching to assigned departments regarding Tracer
findings, compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. TJC, CMS, Maryland Office of Healthcare Quality (OHCQ),
Maryland Healthcare Commission (MHCC)) and education/ awareness of Sentinel Events/ alerts from TJC and CMS
•\tPartner with TJC Consultant to support continuous accreditation readiness (e.g. Mock surveys, Inter-Cycle
Monitoring, Survey, etc.)
•\tConcurrent chart abstraction for assigned Core Measures designated as concurrent and/or chart abstraction/
validation for assigned Core Measures designated as retrospective
•\tAdvise Service lines and units around efforts that will impact house-wide compliance with core measures
•\tCommunication of core measure results to front line staff, and providers and associated Performance Improvement
activities as needed
•\tCoordinate with the Quality Services Department to improve core measure rating improvement
•\tSupport the Quality Council by providing written reports and verbal presentations regarding departmental and
organizational performance
•\tMonitor Maryland Hospital Acquired Conditions (MHAC) and provide applicable education and guidance regarding
avoidance of Potentially Preventable Conditions (PPC)

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:

•\tRN Licensure Preferred (current)
•\tBachelor's degree; Master's degree and/or years of experience preferred
•\tProject management experience in the health care industry
•\tTeamwork experience working cross-functionally throughout multiple disciplines
•\tStrong knowledge of clinical operations
•\tDemonstrated ability to successfully lead others
•\tExcellent organizational skills as demonstrated by prioritization and multitasking
•\tExcellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
•\tExcellent written and presentation skills
•\tProficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
•\tStrong analytical capabilities
•\tMeeting management expertise
•\tSix Sigma/ Lean training preferred
•\tCPHQ preferred

Work Schedule:


Monday - Friday 8-4 / 8-5, some evenings
