Sentara Healthcare is currently recruiting for an experienced Pharmacist to work Part-time (16hrs/wk) Days shift in support of operations at our Sentara Proprium Specialty Pharmacy in Chesapeake, VA. Qualified candidates must be available to work between 7:30am - 7:30pm Monday through Friday.

Experience with online pharmacy adjudication systems required. Will consider new graduated pharmacists and pharmacists not licensed in Virginia due to relocation. Must have Virginia license within 90 days of Sentara start date. Advanced certification in HIV, oncology, infectious disease, or ambulatory care (preferred). Will consider newly licensed graduates. Specialty, outpatient, inpatient, or ambulatory care experience. Pharm.D. Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. ASHP PGY1 Residency.


The Specialty Clinical Pharmacist works in a high volume call and/or fulfillment center within the Specialty Pharmacy. The clinical pharmacist maintains current knowledge of specialty focused medications and disease states and ensures appropriate therapy and in-depth patient counseling is provided. Serving as a clinical and process leader on a multi-disciplinary team, the pharmacist provides exceptional customer service through engaging as a primary drug information resource for both patients and the medical community. The pharmacist identifies new opportunities for cost savings, decreased medical expenses, and improved outcomes while maintaining a high level of patient care and safety.
