Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for an administrative services manager to help oversee vital day-to-day operations of the newsroom.  

The successful candidate will be a collegial multitasker with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to function easily in a fast-paced newsroom.  This position requires a leader who follows directions closely and is also an effective self-starter.  The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and able to do some physical labor associated with desk and office moves.

The administrative services manager oversees a staff of copy aides and is responsible for their hiring, training and scheduling. Other job responsibilities include maintaining the newsroom's printing and scanning devices as well as overseeing the phone system to ensure they are functioning as needed. This person also manages the newsroom's newspaper and mail distribution, orders office supplies and pays bills associated with News Administration, among other duties. 

We are looking for a team player who can work effectively with other groups, including the News Logistics and facilities teams.
