  • In order to be found qualified for the GS-13 ADR Mediator position with FMCS; your resume must clearly reflect your specialized experience. Specialized experience for the GS-13 position is defined as:

    One-year specialized experience at the GS-12 (or equivalent) level in the fields of conflict management and prevention as a practitioner (i.e mediator, facilitator, trainer, program manager, ombudsman, coach).

    Preference will be given to those candidates who demonstrate a wider range of practitioner services as well as familiarity in the areas of workplace, EEO complaints, labor-management relations, collective bargaining, systemic and culture change, age discrimination, environmental, regulatory, enforcement, and leadership development and alignment.

    When detailing your level of specialized experience, please include: Years of experience, descriptions of breadth of conflict management/prevention services you provided, ability to design and adapt your strategy/approach/services to the needs of the client/situation, complexity of matters, your overall impact on the outcome of issue(s), utilization of conflict management/prevention techniques, and level of knowledge/familiarity of the subject matter at issue in which you were providing neutral services.

    Skills and expertise in providing a variety of neutral third party services such as mediation, facilitation, coaching, training and consulting on a variety of topics including workplace, EEO complaints, labor-management relations, systemic and cultural change, age discrimination, environmental, regulatory, enforcement, leadership development and alignment, and others which are a particularly unique, difficult or complex in nature.

    Ability to coordinate complex projects with multiple high-level governments and non­ governmental officials.

    Ability to negotiate and administer contracts for services and develop funding sources with high-level government officials.

    Ability to adapt ADR services for delivery within various technology platforms, such as telephonic, video and other online collaborative systems. Demonstrating communication skills (verbal and written).
