This is a non-career, term job.
May serve at the Washington Dulles International Airport or Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Provides administrative and clerical assistance to help facilitate operations and administrative functions within the Department. Prepares reports; types, edits, and proofreads documents and forms; and maintains calendars. Performs related functions.
Screens telephone calls and receives visitors to the office.
Types, edits, or proofreads documents and forms. Reviews all correspondence for correct use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
May draft routine, non-technical correspondence.
Sets up and/or maintains suspense files/databases and generates reports of data and information.
Monitors inventory levels of office supplies. Sorts and distributes mail. Makes and distributes copies of documents. Sends and monitors receipt of facsimiles.
Maintains calendars for the department and conference rooms; schedules appointments, meetings, and conferences.
Coordinates, tracks, and administratively supports department staff training.
Assists in time and attendance recording.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Four years of progressively responsible experience in in general administrative office support functions.
Knowledge of and skill in administrative, secretarial, and clerical duties.
Skill in using a computer and modern office suite software.
Ability to learn office functions and staff responsibilities to direct calls and mail to the right person, prepare and submit routine forms and reports, and provide other administrative support.
Knowledge of and ability to support office functions such as basic human resource management, procurement and supply, and information technology and telecommunications.
Ability to perform basic analyses of data and information.
Ability to speak and write effectively.
A high school diploma or a Certificate of General Education Development (GED).

Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
