Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience in at least 4 of the following: (1) Performing chemical testing of treated power plant water systems; (2) Maintaining chemical treatment data, analyzing trends and recommending corrective actions to achieve a normal range for chemical levels in the treated plant systems; (3) Performing scheduled inspections of major water process systems such as condensate storage tanks, hot wells, boiler drums and cooling towers; (4) Developing guidelines for applying water corrosion remediation, analysis and quality assurance techniques to resolve various water-quality problems in piping systems; and (5) Performing as Contracting Officer Representative or equivalent.

- Ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit or verify information or data from the compounds related to routine and specialized testing.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
