The George Mason University department of Safety, Emergency, and Enterprise Risk Management (SEERM) is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for the position of Administrative Specialist. This position will work support SEERM including the EHS- Fire Safety and Emergency Management groups through administrative duties. This position will serve as the point of contact for the SEERM office at the Fairfax office and provide program support including committee meeting management, record keeping, invoice tracking. Responsibilities also include purchasing, document formatting, scheduling, room reservations, event support, and serving as the SEERM Vehicle Coordinator.
Required Qualifications: * Ability to use a computer fluently, including Microsoft Office software suite, databases, internet applications * Database management and data entry experience. * Word processing, record keeping and organizational skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; * Ability to prioritize projects and deadlines, * Ability to work independently but also with groups * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and writing); * Strong organizational and time management skills; * Ability to work effectively with a broad range of personalities and work styles * Ability to lift 20 lbs. * Ability to make independent decisions regarding emergencies Preferred Qualifications: * Significant relevant administrative experience * Purchasing experience, including eVA and Visa eworks * Experience at an institution of higher education * Bachelorâ€™s degree, or a combination of education and experience
