Licensed Practical Nurse
Here is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team as part of our Addiction Medicine Clinic in a community-based outpatient setting. Staff is being enhanced and expanded to provide integrated services, while addressing substance use and mental health disorders as well as co-occurring primary care needs of individuals we serve. Programming includes medically and clinically managed detoxification, induction, medication management, case management, and engagement and referral services.
Delivers appropriate Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), medical and clinical services to clients in compliance with state license requirements and under the direction of nursing supervisor. Obtains information from the Virginia Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) and performs urine drug screening on clients. Provides medical monitoring of clients, administration of medication and provision of injections as ordered by prescribers. Reviews potential benefits and side effects of medication with clients and provides health education. Monitors for signs and symptoms of withdrawal, and provides head to toe nursing assessments. Communicates with medical and clinical staff, and others inside the CSB, as well as those in the community. Must be able to work as part of a treatment team which consists of substance abuse counselors, mental health counselors, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychiatrist, and physicians.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: Possession of current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia;
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry, and a sanctions screening to the satisfaction of the employer.
Contingent upon area of assignment, some positions within this class will require a National Provider Identifier.
Experience working with clients in detoxification or medical/surgical and psychiatric conditions.
Ability to provide nursing care/assistance including assisting large adults to sit, walk, stand, bend and write as needed. Use key-board to enter data in electronic health record and review data on computer monitor; observe client behavior/appearance. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
