CNS/ATM Mission Planning SME
Provide Engineering Subject Matter Expertise and Systems Analysis support for the use of aeronautical databases and Mission Planning systems in CNS/ATM RNP RNAV Integrations.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide system engineering analysis and requirements analysis on system compliance with CNS/ATM RNP RNAV FRD and MP requirements.
Translate operator functionality requirements into a system specification.
Review conceptual requirements, system specification documents, hardware and software requirements, and detailed hardware and software designs to ensure compliance with functional requirements.
Support system level designs, installation, testing, and certification in aircraft.
Utilize principles of systems engineering, and other engineering disciplines, to analyze and recommend solutions, and clarify requirements.
Write test plans, test procedures, and requirements verification documentation.
Execute test plans and write test reports on JMPS mission planning software suites related to RNP RNAV certifications.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience required.
Must have Secret Clearance.
Understanding of Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) software, related hardware, and systems engineering technical requirements processes.
Strong Systems Engineering Analysis skills, with a background in one or more of the following areas: Navigation, Air Traffic Control, military aviation Mission Planning, JMPS.
Familiarity with DoD and NAVAIR acquisition processes and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews.
Strong communication skills, experienced team member, ability to work closely with multiple diverse teams simultaneously, and the drive to contribute to program success.
Ability to work independently, or in a multi-discipline team.
Desire and ability to leverage lessons learned by evaluating processes and solutions/conclusions from previous efforts.
Understanding of DAFIF format, content, and relationship to commercial navigation database standards.
Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and CNS/ATM requirements.
Familiar with EUROCONTROL and other sovereign nation aviation regulations.
Experience working with NGA, FAA, NAVFIG, NAVAIR Program Offices, and other navigation database or mission planning stakeholders.
Experience with air traffic control and FAA regulatory processes.
Intimate knowledge of DAFIF specification, ARINC 424 specification, and other commercial navigation database formats.
Experience with navigation and air traffic control in airspace not controlled by FAA.
Experience with foreign military sales.
