Responsibilities:

The hospital-based Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing health care services to individuals, families, and/or groups in the hospital setting, independently and/or under the direction of the attending physician. Health care services include conducting comprehensive health assessments, prescribing/providing treatments/interventions, making referrals, managing acute and stable chronic illnesses, promoting health, and providing disease prevention and management services. The NP is expected to participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, engage in member- of- the- team activities, use resources (human and material) appropriately, and adhere to Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations (as applicable). : This position will help support the out-patient wound care center as well as in-patient ostomy care. The NP/PA will provide for medical care to patients as delegated by a physician in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. Knowledge and advanced skills with advanced physical assessment and treatment of complex wounds, management of skin integrity and ostomy management is required.

Master's Level Degree - NURSE PRACTITIONER

Experience
Education and Technical Skills:
•Masters Degree NP
•VA Licensure
•experience in management of wound, ostomy and continence care preferred, not required
•Certification in any of the following Adult Nurse Practitioner/ANP, Family Nurse Practitioner/FNP, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner/GNP, or Clinical Nurse Specialist/ CNS Active DEA
•Prescriptive authority BLS from American Heart Association

License
Required: Authorization to Prescribe, Basic Life Support, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Certified Physician Assistant

Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Skills
Required: Communication, Critical Thinking, Speaking
