  • Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
  • In order to qualify for this GS-9 Program Specialist position, your resume must clearly demonstrates your ability to perform the work at the GS-9 level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service. One must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level or equivalent that involves principles and practices of the library, archives and/or information science fields. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
    1. Knowledge of the principles and practices of the library, archives and/or information science fields and knowledge of issues and trends involving libraries, archives and other educational institutions.
    2. Knowledge of grant-making in government or non-government organizations; experience may be obtained as a grant applicant, reviewer, or grantee; and
    3. Skill in conducting analysis and problem-solving
    OR
    Have Master's or equivalent (LL.B or J.D.) graduate degree in a related field, or, two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

    OR
    Have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements of this position.


    MANDATORY SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Carefully read the following descriptions of experience. This position requires that you have knowledge of the principles and practices of the library, archives and/or information science fields and knowledge of issues and trends involving libraries, archives and other educational institutions to include knowledge of grant-making in government or non-government organizations. Such experience could have been demonstrating the ability to stay current on trends and best practices in the library, archives, and/or information science communities; as well as experience obtained as a grant applicant, reviewer, or grantee.

    To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).
