Sentara Norfolk General is seeking a Nursing Professional who is either a Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Nurse Clinician, or Nurse Specialist for a full time Day shift position on the Behavioral health Unit. This 34 bed unit has 12 beds for Med/Gero and 22 beds for adult/acute Behavioral Health.

$10,000 sign on bonus for qualified candidates with two or more years experience.

Must be certified in specialty area deemed eligible for CNS as recognized by State Boards of Nursing. CNS registration with Virginia or North Carolina Board of Nursing required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support required for Intermediate Care and Critical Care.


The Clinical Nurse Specialist demonstrates advanced and specialized clinical knowledge and skills to facilitate the provision of patient / family-focused care to promote health and/or well-being improve quality of life; drive practice changes throughout the organization, and ensure use of evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes. This individual provides expertise and support either directly or indirectly by influencing patients/families, nurses/nursing practice, and organization/systems through direct care, leadership, coaching, research, ethical decision making, collaboration, and consultation.
