The Kingsbury Wellness & Learning Group is a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals working collaboratively to provide exceptional therapeutic and educational services to children and adults. We are under the same organizational umbrella as Kingsbury Day School, and we share the same building location, but we function separately as a resource to the Greater DC Community.

We have a broad range of therapeutic and educational expertise that allows us to serve children and adults with complex needs. Rather than refer clients to various providers in the community for supplemental treatment, we have the therapeutic and educational resources on hand to develop comprehensive, individualized remediation plans. Few other organizations in the DC area or elsewhere can claim the combined expertise of clinical psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech pathology and tutoring within a small, community-focused organization. Our diagnostic and psychological services have been serving families throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for decades, and we continue to provide assessments of the highest quality.

We are seeking a licensed psychologist to join our team, providing psychological assessment and psychotherapy services to children and adults. Preference is given to clinicians with a strong interest in neuropsychological assessment (with emphasis on learning challenges); the position includes the expectation of one testing evaluation per month, with the opportunity to increase and supplement with a psychotherapy caseload. Competitive compensation is offered.

General Position Requirements:

  • License to practice in DC
  • Collaborative Attitude

  • Cultural Competency

  • Prompt communication and email with colleagues

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records

We conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations that provide in-depth information about an individual’s functioning across a broad range of areas. Our evaluations include cognitive, academic, neuropsychological, and social-emotional testing. Psychologists who have extensive testing experience are preferred, though training in specific measures and initial supervision will be provided. Specific skills and qualifications desired include:

  • Experience testing children ages 3 and up
  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Familiar with a range of clinical presentations, including learning disorders, Autism, ADHD, behavioral and emotional challenges

  • Availability to conduct at least one comprehensive evaluation per month

Psychologists in the Wellness and Learning Group provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy services to children and adults with a broad range of mental health concerns. Our mission is to provide the highest quality therapy while also setting the standard for internal and external collaboration. Psychologists from diverse clinical backgrounds are welcome; each is expected to demonstrate ownership of his/her therapeutic orientation while also maintaining competence in a variety of psychological interventions. All psychologists are expected to have basic foundations in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and family interventions.

Collaboration is a core value of the Wellness and Learning Group. All of our psychologists participate in regular peer supervision meetings to discuss therapy and assessment cases. The Kingsbury Wellness and Learning Group does not participate with any managed healthcare plans.
