  • To qualify at the GS-14 level, the applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, obtained in private or public service, that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Specialized experience here includes experience that demonstrates: (1) mastery of all aspects of incident handling; (2) mastery of monitoring network events for threats and vulnerabilities; (3) mastery of computer and network forensics; (4) mastery of penetration testing techniques; (5) mastery of security architecture and engineering; and (6) mastery in conducting security briefings to all levels in the organization. The ideal candidate possesses senior-level expertise leading a team in the administration of an Oracle relational database management system, developing web-based software applications for data access, ensuring all information within the software systems are secured following Federal information security mandates, and is knowledgeable regarding data sets, policies and practices pertaining to US trade and economics.
