George Mason Universitys, Early Identification Program is looking for a dynamic and energetic professional to serve as Assistant Director for College Readiness. EIP encourages first-generation college bound students to enroll in college and succeed once admitted. The Assistant Director for College Readiness will provide strategy, assess, and coordinate college preparation programs and functions designed to prepare and orient EIP students and their families for post-secondary education. The ADCR will manage and assess the impact of academic supports and enrichment activities (AMP, STEM+H Power Aid, designed to increase first-generation college bound students understanding of the college application process. The Assistant Director of College Readiness will plan, execute, and assess programming with a focus on Science Technology Engineering, Mathematics and Health enrichment (STEM+H). He/she will provide leadership through co-managing the Academic Mentoring Program and will evaluate tutoring sites, along with recruiting, supervising, and evaluating mentors. The ADCR will also provide supervision to a graduate assistant for Student Success. He/She will also serve as an instructor for the EIPs transition course. The ADCR must have a valid drivers license and be able to operate a motor vehicle as he/she will have to visit AMP sites. He/she should be able to work some evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications: * A Masters degree or equivalent combination of training/experience in any area of counseling, education, or social work or equivalent years of experience. * Knowledge of higher education, college access and student service functions; * Knowledge of national and state educational trends impacting first-generation college bound middle school and high school students * Ability to think strategically, plan, and manage time efficiently * Ability to develop and assess learning outcomes and programs * Ability to work with diverse constituents * Ability to work and thrive in a team environment * Experience in supervising a diverse staff * Ability to pay attention to detail * Excellent event planning/coordination and program management, including demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication, organizational ability, marketing, and database management skills. * Experience serving and supporting diverse student populations. * Demonstrated supervisory experience * A valid drivers license * Ability to work some evenings and weekends Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with college access and success programs * Ability to work and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents including students, EIP Alumni, public school and community stakeholders * History of providing exceptional customer service for students and families * Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and strong follow-through. * Ability to engage in critical thought processes and problem solve * Ability to work independently and collaboratively * Ability to take direction from team members
