The Technical Trainer will primarily conduct computer and software training and needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks and determining system utilization requirements by researching and testing various software solutions.Responsibilities
Determine training needs in partner with Research Units, Functional Groups, Corporate Service leads
Work with Subject Matter Experts to develop and deploy instructor-led and E-Learning courses
Assist with user training and create process and procedural documentation
Assist with Corporate Initiatives, such as software process enhancements and new software implementations
Ability to develop/update system documentation and work with project teams and our software partners as assigned
Work closely with the end users, answer questions, and provide guidance as needed
Works closely with software developers and the Quality Assurance team to ensure that course material reflects current application features
Updates course documentation and user guides on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance
Troubleshoot user issues and coordinating with vendor support
Assist as needed with external and internal audits
Coordinate special projects as requested by the Training and Development Director
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 5 years’ relevant experience designing and facilitating software-related training sessions, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Hands-on experience coordinating and training users in a classroom-based setting and via webinar or web-based mediums
Ability to train on various software solutions
Ability to understand complex business requirements, software solution design, and operational processes within existing systems
Excellent computer skills with various software applications including Office 365 products, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce training materials
Experience with conducting needs assessments and surveys as needed to ensure focused training plans
Experience developing and updating training materials and system user manuals
Strong customer service and support skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to solve problems with many variables and offer various options for resolution
Ability to organize and prioritize personal tasks to meet deadlines and service level objectives
