Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Basic Educational Requirements AND (2) Minimum Qualifications for the grade to which you are applying.
(1) Basic Requirements
A. Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
B. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
(2) Minimum Qualifications
A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1)Performing analyses or studies that use mathematical or statistical computer software packages, such as (but not limited to) Excel, statistical programs, or database software; 2)Writing and preparing well-written economic papers/reports; 3) Applying economic theory and empirical methods to energy or other natural resource policy analysis.
B. Education: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degre
C. Combination: A combination of education and specialized experience that totals 100% of the requirement for the GS-9 grade level.
A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-11, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1)Performing analyses or studies that use mathematical or statistical computer software packages, such as (but not limited to) Excel, statistical programs, or database software; 2) Writing and preparing well-written economic papers/reports; 3) Applying economic theory and empirical methods to energy or other natural resource policy analysis; 4)Providing valid economic analyses and recommendations to management.
B. Education: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
C. Combination: A combination of education and specialized experience that totals 100% of the requirement for the GS-11 grade level.
