Director Total Rewards
This position will oversee and direct the design, administration, and continuous improvement of the total rewards function and will be responsible for the development of staff, management of vendors, consultants, and brokers.
This role is specifically accountable for the areas of employee benefit plan design and administration, related employee education outreach, compensation administration, advising management on job description content, leveling and pricing decisions, maintaining the Center's job description library, employee wellness programs and outreach, employee recognition programs, employee engagement analytics and employee data management.
Some workflows can be delegated to staff with proper supervision while other workflows are managed by the Director.
Proactively engage with the Center's key stakeholders relative to benefit and compensation management design and administration specifically the Kennedy Center's President, CHRO, CFO, and General Counsel.
The work of the total rewards function will be aligned with the Kennedy Center's total rewards philosophy and strategy, organization goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
30% Manage the strategy, design, and implementation of all employee benefit plans. Evaluate benefit best practices and the Center's market competitiveness. Work with key stakeholders to develop cost estimates, forecasts and changes to reward mix. Manage insourced and outsourced components of Plan administration as well as CBA dimensions. Lead the communication of benefit programs to employees while keeping appropriate stakeholders informed and aware of current status of key programs and new initiatives.
30% Administer the Kennedy Center compensation model and coordinate annual program update work with external vendors. Maintain current all records related to staff compensation. Advise management on job leveling and job pricing requests. Administer department level restructuring efforts where job leveling and pricing are required. Maintain the Center's job leveling integrity as it relates to JD content, job titling and reporting relationships.
20% Oversee the management of employee data input and utilization as it relates to benefits and vendor feeds, payroll (in collaboration with the Finance team), performance management, and employee surveys.
5% Deliver employee education seminars and opportunities to learn about benefit plan features, 403b program, and other employee support programs. Collaborate with external vendors and HR Training on design and delivery.
5% Conceptualize, recommend, and administer the employee wellness program. Target specific Plan provider partnerships that drive cost savings and improve the employee experience. Determine specific success measurements.
5% Conceptualize, recommend, and administer the employee recognition program. Apply technology and scalable processes that highlight employee performance as measured by the Center's expressed values and strategic plan.
5% Actively participate as a key leader with the Human Resources team in development of human capital strategies and tactical approaches to deliver high impact solutions and drive HR initiatives related to total rewards.
Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business management or related field with 10 years of hands on experience in employee benefits, including 5 years of benefit design and management, 3-5 years in a leadership role, and 1-2 years with compensation administration responsibilities. Knowledge of core Benefits administration technologies.
Experience administering benefits in a CBA environment. Experience managing an employee Wellness program. Experience managing an Employee recognition program. Experience managing an employee engagement survey strategy. Experience with survey tools, administration, and analytics. CCP and/or CBP designation highly preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to manage several complex projects or initiatives at both tactical and strategic levels simultaneously
- Understanding of executive compensation strategies and their implementation
- Possess solid foundation in current HR practices, data, service delivery and support systems
- Strong platform presentation skills and comfortable delivering education and training experiences.
