Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Staff Development – Educator, RN for the Cardiac Surgical Acute Care Unit


This position is Part Time Day Shift, working 24 hours a week!

Experience:
Must have a strong interest in teaching. RN experience in Cardiac, ICU, IMCU, or Telemetry.

About the Unit:
    12-bed Cardiac Surgery Acute Critical care UnitNurses provide service to any patients that have undergone open-heart surgeryManagement and titration of up to 2 vasopressors or 2 anti-hypertensivesManagement and monitoring arterial and CVP pressure linesProviding support to patient on high flow oxygen and BiPapTelemetry monitoring in addition to a central monitoring stationNurse-patient ratio is typically 2:1

Teaching experience preferred. Specialty professional nursing certification preferred. Advanced or specialized life support certifications required as defined by specific specialty.

Responsibilities:

Assumes operational responsibility for the development of patient and staff education within designated center(s) population(s). Promotes the application of nursing clinical expertise in a specified patient population. Accountable for defined aspects of staff development, continuing education and professional development of all nursing staff to improve quality and patient safety. Supports system and hospital projects and initiatives. Functions as an educator, facilitator, change agent, consultant, researcher, and leader.

RN-Bachelor's Level Degree

Experience
Required: Clinical - 2 years
