HBI instructors blend their technical and trades expertise with the experience or desire to develop and guide future building trades professionals. They demonstrate—through hands-on training and classroom instruction—proper technique, safety and detail which are essential skills of polished trades professionals. They guide our youth, adults and veterans and instill confidence and pride to achieve on the job beyond graduation and in life. Working side-by-side with students, they “give back” through community-based projects in the same way they also give back to their students. Instructors demonstrate HBI’s core values of excellence, safety, and integrity and service to empower and prepare their students to enter their careers with a solid credential.
Our instructors have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least five years of experience in the respective trade. A strong orientation to safety in the workplace is an absolute must. Strong coaching skills and the determination to teach, inspire and lead future trades professionals are essential.
