Systems Engineer (Cryptography)
Overview WOOD is currently hiring a Virtualization Systems Engineer/Architect to support our team in Linthicum, MD. The ideal Systems Engineer will be responsible for working and leading a virtualization team in systems design and operations. The SE will design, build, and integrate all physical, virtual, logical systems and networks. Responsibilities In a highly virtualized VMWare and vCloud Director Environment, the Systems Engineer (SE), will design and provide a multitude of internal customers with a virtual machine and network setup (VMWare NSX).SE will be responsible for working on many concurrent efforts and tasks in a fast paced environmentOther responsibilities will include stakeholder and customer support Work directly with the government customer to analyze requirements and address technical concernsDocument technical design and architectureDuties will include the design, build and configuration of project hardware such as servers, virtual machines, SAN\NAS, and networking equipment to include multi-level firewalls and switchesInstallation and configuration of both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom applications may become a more common duty assigned to this positionSE will be the key point of contact for all hardware, virtualization and managing of network resourcesAssist in leading the team in the responsibility for the overall security and compliance controls Qualifications All candidate must have a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.Fourteen (14) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.Bachelor's degree in (System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management), or related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degreeExperience in most if not all of the following:Must be able to document system processes, build procedures and system infrastructure diagramsStrong experience in networking Microsoft Server 2008, or 2012/2016 system administrationVMware ESXi Server 5 or above, including vCenter, vSphere, and vCloud DirectorMS SQL/Databases administrationMS Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 Active DirectoryMicrosoft SCCM, SCOM configuration/administrationCurrent SAN/NAS experienceCurrent Hardware installation and configuration experienceExperience in scripting in Powershell and/or PowerCLI Experienced in administration of CISCO, McAfee Enterprise (or similar) Firewalls and networking equipment (firewalls/switches/SAN)Experience administering firewalls, particularly Cisco ASA's and/or McAfee (formerly SideWinder) a plusExperience using NetApp Storage DevicesExperience using Cisco UCS hardware environmentsExperience in Linux AdministrationSuccessful candidates will be detail oriented and exhibit strong organization skills; must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact with all levels of organization management while operating in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
