The employer is a nonprofit organization with the goal of strengthening the foundations of community. Assists in the interpretation and understanding of HR policies/procedures, employment law and other compliance issues, such as FMLA/ADA/STD/LTD/EEO. Supports the training of associates and managers on mandatory topics, including child abuse prevention, health and safety and harassment prevention. Advises, coaches and consults with associates, managers and leaders on such issues as policy interpretation, conflict or problem resolution, performance management, career development, and overall engagement to positively impact motivation, development and retention of the workforce. Recruitment Attends weekly recruitment calls with leadership to review openings and determine strategies to fill. Participates in on-site recruiting events for products lines, including Early Childhood Development and Camp. Collaborates with Recruitment to develop college and other recruitment source relationships. Participates in on-campus recruitment events. Strategic Initiatives Supports the organization's and product line's strategic goals in support of an overall enhanced associate experience that will result in higher engagement, decrease in turnover, and increased efficiency and effectiveness in process and procedure, using such HR metrics such as cost per hire, engagement data, turnover stats, training hours per associate and positions filled via internal promotions. Performance Management/Succession Planning Supports the annual processes for performance management, succession planning and the ongoing development of associates. Ensures the successful completion of such supporting processes as the 90 day Evaluation and Interim Evaluations. Reviews documentation and ensures the use of behavioral examples in 90 Day and Interim Evaluations. Administration Files unemployment claim information via Equifax portal; represents the Y in unemployment hearings. Manages workers comp claims; communicates with associate, manager and case nurse. Updates associate records in HRIS to reflect status changes, terminations, etc. Communicates with Payroll, HRIS and Benefits regarding system and associate issues. Reviews weekly/monthly reports from HRIS and takes necessary actions. Collaborates with grant administrator to ensure staffing and funding meet requirements.  Four (4) year college degree required; a concentration in Human Resources, Business, Management, psychology or related field preferred. A minimum of eight (8) years' experience in human resources across multiple areas of Human Resources. A minimum of two (2) years' supervisory experience required. Experience working in a non-profit organization strongly preferred.
