Senior Hardware Design Engineer Location: MD - Annapolis Junction Job Code: 08-4180 of Openings: 2 Division Overview: This PRIME contract includes developing cutting edge electronic warfare cyber solutions while supporting mission objectives. The program supports the development of Software Defined Radio capabilities via the development of frameworks, software applications, algorithms and techniques in components and waveforms for integration with various deployment and delivery platforms. Technical focus areas include: Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Hardware Design and Software Development in Java, VHDL, C/C++ and Python Clearance Requirements: Clearance: TS/SCI WITH POLYGRAPH Description THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE TS/SCI WITH POLY CLEARANCE Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer (FPGA Firmware Developer). The team applies skills in hardware/software/system architecture for cutting edge EW/RF Cyber applications in a tactical environment. The position involves the design and implementation of a framework used to implement real-time signal digital signal processing algorithms within embedded devices. This group offers upward mobility with the ability to strengthen technological capabilities. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE: Designs and tests new integrated circuits and hardware components for a wide variety of signal processing applications and research Designs, documents, and develops code (to include firmware) for digital signal processors or other programmable hardware devices Analyzes the function of existing integrated circuits and hardware components for the purpose of reverse engineering the hardware and firmware Conducts the necessary hardware engineering and related functions to modify and adapt vendor-manufactured hardware to meet special needs and contingencies REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: FPGA development and verification using VHDL and/or Verilog Experience in all stages of development including documentation, modeling, implementation, simulation, synthesis, integration and test/verification Development experience with large, dense, high-speed FPGAs (Xilinx, Altera, etc.) Solid experience with FPGA build, simulation, prototyping, and debugging tools and techniques (eg, Xilinx ISE/Vivado, Mentor Graphics Modelsim, Chipscope/ILA) Knowledge of computing equipment and its operating systems (eg, Windows, Unix, Linux) Knowledge of lab bench-top equipment Strong background in design and implementation of physical interfaces and signal processing algorithms Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, strong collaborative skills, strong written and verbal communication 3 years in the Intelligence Community EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 9 years of working experience; OR Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 7 years of working experience; OR PhD degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 4 years of working experience DESIRED EXPERIENCE (although NOT required) : C/C++ experience, including programming and debugging Python experience TCL experience MATLAB experience Digital Signal Processing experience FPGA development experience in open architectures Experience designing for high-speed protocols (10GbE, PCIe, AXI) Experience with Software-Defined Radios; GNU Radio and/or REDHAWK experience Familiarity with code repositories such as GIT and Subversion (SVN) Familiarity with the Agile (SCRUM) development methodology using continuous integration and delivery and Atlassian products Boeing Intelligence & Analytics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
