Job Overview What you will be doing As a Product Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving innovation around new product development and sustaining for our Marine, Oil & Gas business, focused on dynamic wire and cable products. You will have the ability to work globally and continue to develop advanced skills in hands on mechanical engineering, design for manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management and lean manufacturing. The primary tasks for this position include: * General development and management of engineering & engineering support teams, to include and assist with recruitment, technical skills requirements, appraisals, succession planning, team building, compensation reviews, career development and training. * Ensuring best practice regarding use of and adoption of engineering processes and tools to allow efficient delivery of projects and support of existing products * Ensuring the engineering team implements and operates within the Marine, Oil & Gas defined procedures * Establishing and maintaining engineering resource requirements to deliver development project requirements * Ensuring teams work collaboratively with all other business functions * Maintaining regular communication with the groups Global Engineering Lead and Senior Management Team * Being a liaison and coordinating with Product Management, Business Development and Sales organization to ensure global strategies are in line with the business direction * Assisting in the definition and implementation of wire and cable development strategies, product roadmaps in line with sales, business development and customer requirements * Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators to show compliance plus trends for quality, cost, time and performance * Working closely with the global project management team to manage project prioritization and resource allocation needs * Coordinating and managing customer complaints, direct / indirect customer support and reaction Click here for a day in the life of a Mechanical Engineer: Life At TE Qualifications What your background should look like * BS in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) * 3-5 years engineering team leadership experience * Experience with new product development and product sustaining * Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles * Strong communication skills * Strong people management experience Nice to have * Experience with wire and cable products * Marine, Oil & Gas Industry experience What TE Connectivity offers We offer competitive total rewards compensation.
