THE RAND Corporation offers a motivated professional a key impact opportunity in the role of LEAD AUDIO-VISUAL TECHNICIAN. This role will support the ongoing daily operation of meetings and events and will be a key player in the selection, installation and implementation of new AV technologies. This is a dynamic role that provides creative opportunities for direct support and oversight of AV operations in our Washington DC, Pittsburgh and Boston offices, and provides an opportunity to those who do not have an AVIXA CTS or CTS-I Certification achieve the certification on a time management basis during work hours. All benefits can be reviewed at https://www.rand.org/jobs/benefits.htmlQUALIFICATIONS * 3-5 years of both strategic and tactical lead experience in the managing of daily AV operations for meetings, conferences and events in our East Coast offices. * 3-5 years of experience producing AV for special events in-house, off-site, and virtually through webinars/streaming * Minimum 2 years of experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a broad range of AV infrastructure * Minimum 2 years of AV installation project management experience * Ability to communicate with all levels of employees including executives, researchers, technicians and Conference Services staff * AV specific equipment networking deployment and maintenance, including interfacing with existing computer network within RAND's IS department * Perform advanced audio digital sound processing programming (ClearOne preferred) and Extron control programming as required * Basic video shooting and audio and video post-production services * PC proficiency: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Visio * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Outstanding time management skills * AVIXA CTS or CTS-I Certification required or the ability to successfully attain the CTS within one year of start date SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: * Strong customer service skills * Ability to lift 50 lbs. * Ability to work flexible hours (some evenings and weekends) * Ability to obtain and/or maintain a valid driver's license * Ability to stand for long periods of time RAND is an Equal Opportunity Employer-minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
