TOP SKILLS:1.) familiar with copper wiring and how to trace POTS lines in IT closets2.) experience with providing documentation for telecom or network related projects within MS Excel (Our client is using an internal system called Tango for expense management)3.) this person must be very reliable and open to travel across our clients sites Our client is looking for 2 contract resources to assist with a 4 month project that will kick off in Jan 2019. This project would be slated out for 6 months and it would cover an audit of all of their POTS and Cellular lines across the enterprise. So, ideally would need someone that is familiar with POTS (Plain Telephone Service) lines and how to trace them in the IT closets. They would like to bring on one tech to support all of their DC locations and another to support their Baltimore locations. Between these 2 tech's, they will be traveling across 6 hospitals and 10 outpatients clinics.JOB DUTIES:1. Run reports and Review all cellular lines (roughly 3000 lines) to determine any lines that have no usage. Lines that do not have any usage, verify with the associate that the line is no longer needed and work with our clients outsourced team to have line discontinued2. Run reports and Review all POTS line to determine any lines that have no usage. Lines that do not have usage, verify with the business owner that those lines are no longer needed and work with their outsourced client Telecom team to have lines discontinuedProject Goals * To identify all carrier (Verizon, Comcast, Paetec, AT&T, Cavalier, etc.) single business phone lines (not going through the phone system) and circuits, and inventory how they are being used ie fax, disaster phone, etc.* Research and identify opportunities to disconnect un-used single business phone lines and circuits. * Provide the annual cost savings on a spreadsheet for the disconnected lines and circuits.* Update the Telecom Blue Book On-Call spreadsheet with the line/circuit identification and provide back to Telecom.* ID the location of the lines on the Verizon frame for the Telecom Tech. Expectations* The time frame for this type of project is approximately 4-6 months for hospitals (depending on the size of the location). It is time consuming to ID lines, test lines, suspend, disconnect, and verify the disconnects after two billing cycles the phone lines are no longer being charged to the hospital/site. * Work with the site Telecom Tech to help ID, label, and test lines.* After project completion, the site Telecom Tech will maintain the phone line spreadsheet with new phone line and circuit installations, locations, or disconnects and provide a copy to the site IS AVP.* The site Telecom Tech will update the site Blue Book On Call information with the updates referenced above and provide the updated version to the site IS AVP, and the Telecom Software and Billing Teams. * A recommended documentation review should be completed twice annually by the IS AVP to ensure the data stays current.About TEKsystems:We're partners in transformation.
