Overview Transdev is seeking a strong writer and communications professional to write and publish a wide variety of content for print and digital channels. This position will also assist in supporting media relations, for both general business and transportation industry media. We work in a fast-paced, friendly environment that includes a variety of business and communication contexts, internal and external. We are seeking someone who loves to write and is skilled at creating succinct, easy to read, well-crafted, persuasive business content. We want someone who is passionate and will drive projects to completion. We need someone who loves telling great stories in multiple channels and helping to build our brand. The selected person will join our corporate Marketing and Communications team based in downtown Silver Spring, reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications. We are passionate about empowering people's freedom to move around in cities and are excited about adding to our team. Responsibilities Write and publish a wide variety of business materials including press releases, case studies, website content, brochures, PPT presentations, and social media content. Ensure that content/messaging is well written, and communicates our unique public-service mission and impressive track record. Research interesting stories and case studies among our locations. Interview relevant internal people for facts and content. Develop interesting story angles. Build polished, well-written pieces. Expand our digital story telling and social media capabilities. Work with our design team to create powerful info-graphics and visuals. Design messaging strategies for management meetings, executive speeches, etc. Help organize our most powerful content and strongest paragraphs so we can easily access and deploy them. Help drive strategic communication initiatives to completion through hard work and collaboration with multiple stakeholders Work with EVP and VP of Marketing and Communications to support media relations for trade press and general media. Write releases and articles; pitch and secure stories. Analyze and track trade journal editorial calendars to identify opportunities to publish stories or contribute case studies Help deepen relationships with trade and key city reporters to increase our visibility Help support crises communications as needed. Ensure that our stories/releases are maximized and adapted for different channels. Help EVP and VP share key messaging throughout the organization. Organize/disseminate the best language and presentations for describing the company's operations, achievements, strengths, core principles, values and ethics. Qualifications Education, Licensing, and Certifications : Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications or related field. Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required: 5 to 7 years of experience in communications, business writing and/or marketing roles. Strong portfolio of well-written business materials. Superb writing and editing skills and a real talent for story telling in a business context. Ability to thrive in a fast moving environment. Strong ability to multi-task, manage multiple simultaneous projects. Takes pleasure in managing a large volume of projects. Ability to find the "hook" or "angle" that will engage readers. Strong ethic of customer service, internally and externally. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Keeps commitments. Enjoys working with a variety of departments and colleagues, values their input/perspectives. Ability to re-prioritize projects as needed, adapt well to changes. Very productive. Works with a sense of urgency. Strong interpersonal skills, builds trust. Routinely goes above and beyond what is expected. A portfolio showing a variety of well-written business materials for multiple channels, with strong headlines, messages, and persuasive content is required.
