The Tax Accountant will assist the Senior Tax Accountant with various responsibilities of the Tax Department such as coordinating the preparation of S-Corporation and Partnership Income tax returns, preparing quarterly estimated payments, and calculating annual tax provisions.Essential Functions:* Assist in the Tax preparation of US tax returns for large US multinational company (Forms 1120-S, Form 1065 and multi-state income tax returns);* Assist in the preparation of local income tax returns; * Assist in the preparation of the annual tax provision and true up entries for US entities; * Compute quarterly estimated tax payments for Corporate, Composite and Partnership tax liabilities; * Reconcile general ledger accounts;* Research US, State and local tax issues; * Respond to notices & inquires; * Special projects.Minimum Education and/or Experience:* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax* 2 - 3 years' experience in public accounting or within a corporate tax department* Systems experience (eg Hyperion, Peoplesoft, Tax provision software) is a plus* Qualification as a CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus* Public accounting experience is a plusSkills/Abilities:* Candidate should have good communication skills, positive attitude, and willingness to learn* Candidate should be detail oriented and organized* Proficient in Excel (eg manipulating large amounts of data into a concise readable format through vlookups, pivot tables, etc.), Word, Microsoft Outlook, RIA or BNA* Enjoys working as part of a teamCore Competencies:* Customer Service* Building Relationships* Business Knowledge / Organizational Acumen* Initiative and Drive* Leading Self and OthersAbout Allegis:Since our company was founded in 1983, the Allegis Group Companies continue to be an organization of employees who are driven to succeed and motivated by a strong desire to serve others.
