Position Summary and Responsibilities The Quality Engineer is a hands-on position and is responsible for ensuring the quality for the products manufactured while ensuring that the expectations of the customer are met.Work DescriptionEstablish, document and implement quality control procedures to ensure the quality of manufactured products.Represents the voice of the customer in terms of Quality to ensure customer requirements are met during the new product development (NPD) process.Review drawings, procedures, test data and inspection records to specifications.Participate on new product development teams and assist in the development of new processes and procedures.Oversee metallurgical lab sample preparation, inspection, and sample approval process with engineering groups.Lead MRB in materials disposition to support nonconformance process and initiating corrective and preventative actions.Responsible for CMM operation and programming efforts to support QA part inspections (receiving, in process, and end-of-line).Perform investigative, diagnostic, analytical and forensic tasks using 3D Computed tomography to support engineering or QA initiatives. (training will be provided on new CT scanner system)Apply statistical methods and controls to enhance quality control of products and processes.Participate in and/or conduct internal audits for compliance to written procedures.Support in-house ISO 9001 Quality Management System and act as quality liaison on projectMonitor suppliers to include audits, supplier metrics and qualifying new suppliers. Qualifications SkillsDemonstrated self-motivation as well as good analytical, statistical and problem solving skills.Must be proficient with standard MS office software.Solid planning, organization, project management and team work skills.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective written correspondence and interface with internal and external contacts.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering, Math or Science related field required.5-7 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.Candidates with an Associate's Degree in Engineering, Math or Science with 8-10 years of relevant experience may be considered.Proficiency in statistical methods, computer skills and problem solving is required.This position requires a highly motivated individual, self-starter, with excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills is required.Solid planning, organizing, project management and teamwork skills are also required.Desired Education and ExperienceASQ Certified Quality Engineer.Prior experience in metallographic lab sample preparation & analysisExperience using Minitab QA statistical softwareExperience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.Experience with 3D computed tomography (CT) scanning equipment operation and data analysis. US Citizenship required for government clearance and or data/software access.
