Chief Software Engineer Optomi, in partnership with a thriving cybersecurity start-up, is looking for a talented Mobile Developer (iOS/SWIFT) to design and build engaging features that users cannot live without! To succeed, you must be passionate about building great products that provide an awesome user experience. As the Chief Software Engineer you'll have the ability to shape, develop and enhance a product suite used by millions of users from around the world. While your focus will be iOS and macOS development, you will have oversight over our Windows and Android applications as well; managing and guiding development teams both local and remote. What the right candidate will enjoy! * Unlimited sick and family emergency days * Medical insurance with company contribution * Paid travel for speaking at & attending conferences * Company paid gym membership * Lots of yummy snacks in the office * Team lunch on Fridays Apply today if your background includes: * Experience working with the following languages and IDEs: o iOS and macOS - Swift with Xcode (required) o Android - Java with Android Studio (not required - but ideal) o Windows - Microsoft C# .NET Development with Visual Studio (not required - but ideal) * Experience distributing applications via the following channels: o Windows Store o Apple App Store o Google Play Store * Distribution via website (customer downloads EXE/DMG file) * Have deployed, maintained, and updated mobile and/or desktop applications in the past * Solid understanding of databases such as SQL * Experience with Git SCM * Experience designing, maintaining, versioning internal and external ReST APIs * Cross-platform development * Experience with Agile software development practices * Experience with sprint planning and time estimation for engineering tasks * Ability to coordinate and oversee parallel efforts for multiple developers across multiple platforms * Experience building a scalable software products typically obtained in 5 plus years * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with various team members and/or other groups both internally and externally * Ability to effectively engage in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload * Ability to work independently to develop new skills as needed to support new products and applications * Effectively collaborate and communicate across local and remote teams both verbally and in written form * Bachelor or Masters in computer science or equivalent experience Key Responsibilities: * Show initiative in researching latest privacy threats, and coming up with solutions to combat them * Ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with various team members and/or other groups both internally and externally * Lead engineering teams for mobile and desktop development * Lead development stand-ups, design reviews, story writing and retrospectives * Design, build, test, deliver and maintain new product features * Actively plan for future development rather than waiting for tasks to be given to them * Help their team plan, commit, deliver, retrospect and improve sprint after sprint * Gain an in-depth understanding of all of the team's codebases, systems and tools * Lead by example and coach teammates to improve overall effectiveness and trust * Contribute to existing tech stack and actively research and advocate for new tools & technologies and methodologies to evolve it over time * Translate business requirements to conceptual solution architecture and high-level project estimates.
