 OverviewIn  pursuit  of  service  excellence,  the  Recreation  Leader  III  will  oversee  the  drop-in  teen  center  and facilitate structured activities and trips for local youth. Plan weekly activities and trips for teens. Seek sponsors and volunteers to lead a variety of workshops. Research, plan, implement and execute age appropriate programs. The Recreation Leader III will be responsible for engaging local teens in structured programs and activities. What You Should BringEach member of our team is accountable for exceptional delivery of services to the community. You will work to meet the recreation needs for our community. You will ensure that all activities are fun, safe and orderly. To  best serve in  this position,  you  should  have  good  knowledge of the social and  recreational sciences, including the theory, principles, and practices of  recreation. To best serve in in this position, you should have strong organizational skills and be proficient with computers. You must also demonstrate an ability to plan and oversee programs and activities and work effectively in a group setting. You should be able to provide exceptional customer service that exceeds customer's expectations. You should also be available to work various hours, Tuesday-Thursday from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Fridays 7:00 pm-11:00 pm and rotational weekends as needed. The Opportunity
  • Plan, develop and implement structured enrichment and group activities;
  • Be Responsive, Professional, Courteous and Accountable in all interactions;
  • Ensures all safety precautions and guidelines are followed;
  • Manage building operation during events and complete administrative paperwork;
  • Perform operational functions such as responding to inquiries, seeking new partnerships;
  • Responding to customer service inquiries, record keeping, and program registration;
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple tasks and assignments;
  • Corresponds with supervisors, co-workers and citizens in a positive and professional manner;
  • Participates in staff meetings, in-service trainings, sessions, and workshops;
  • Performs related work as required.

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities received national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). National accreditation requires park and recreation agencies to meet 155 standards representing elements of effective and efficient park and recreation operations.
