At the GS-09:
Qualifying experience for the GS-09 level includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-07 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience writing and editing interpretive information for a variety of audiences; producing signage for exhibits or displays; and researching scientific information for written content.
Education: Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D, if related.
A combination of education and experience as described above.
At the GS-11:
Qualifying experience for the GS-11 level includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-09 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience writing and editing interpretive information including information regarding gardens, plants, plant sciences or research for a variety of audiences; monitoring the production and installation of signage for exhibits or displays; researching scientific information for written content; and working with docents or tour guides on presenting information.
Education: Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree in a related field of study or LL.M, if related.
A combination of education and experience as described above.
