  • In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

    1. Qualifying experience for the CP-14 level includes one (1) year of specialized federal or private industry experience equivalent to at least the CP-13/GS-15 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as eight (8) years of progressively responsible, post bar admission, legal experience, five (5) years of which is in the specialty area of employment law. In addition, demonstrated experience serving as an advisor to an Agency Head or Corporate Client and providing counsel and coordinating positions concerning legislative matters; analyzing, interpreting and translating legislation into policy; litigating before courts or administrative bodies, and 3 years supervisory experience.

    2. Possess a J.D., LL.B., LL.M. degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.

    3. A license to practice law in good standing in a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

    4. Submit a legal writing sample.
