Overview:

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is recruiting for a full time, day shift Staff Development Educator. Candidate must be a Registered Nurse who is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and must have two years of clinical experience. We prefer a candidate with a strong background and experience in Womens Health to include Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Nursery and NICU.Department/Position Overview: Assumes operational responsibility for the development of patient and staff education within designated center(s) population(s). Promotes the application of nursing clinical expertise in a specified patient population. Accountable for defined aspects of staff development, continuing education and professional development of all nursing staff to improve quality and patient safety. Supports system and hospital projects and initiatives. Functions as an educator, facilitator, change agent, consultant, researcher, and leader.

Teaching experience preferred. Specialty professional nursing certification preferred. Advanced or specialized life support certifications required as defined by specific specialty.
