Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.


Job Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a research assistant with experience in developing adult learning materials and data collection materials.  The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary research team working on an innovative longitudinal health care study.

Job Responsibilities:

· Participate in developing web-based trainings, including story-board development · Assist in writing in-person training materials, and data collection manuals and documents · Assist in conducting in-person training sessions · Develop questions and specifications for computer-assisted survey instruments. · Draft instrument testing scripts and related materials. · Working with project and IT staff on technical specifications for survey management systems. · Perform literature and internet searches. · Other relevant job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

· A bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications: · Master's degree preferred. · Experience with adult learning development or e-learning tools such as Captivate or Lectora    · Experience with survey design and operations and computer-assisted survey instruments are preferred.
Questionnaire design experience is a plus, but not required.  The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and in a team environment, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and have strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience working on longitudinal studies is a plus.
