Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is hiring a full time Clinical Documentation Specialist Team Leader.

Position Overview
  • Assists the Team Coordinator and/or Manager with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, and achievement of the departmental goals and objectives as well as internal and external customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements by providing technical expertise within the assigned area.
  • Serves as a departmental or technical resource for the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) team members through performance of, or participation in audits, case reviews, and other quality improvement activities, staff development activities as well as daily support to team members.
  • Assists the Team Coordinator and/or Manager in facilitating and monitoring the work processes of the CDI Team.
  • Assists in the training and orientation of new team members, and collaborates with others in measuring success and guiding and enhancing the orientation process.

Qualifications:

Education Level
RN-Associate's Degree OR
RN-Bachelor's Level Degree

Experience
Required: Acute Care - 5 years, Clinical Documentation Spec - 1 year
