Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is currently recruiting for an experienced Pharmacist to work as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in support of our Pharmacy operations at our Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This is Full-time (40hrs/wk) Day shift position. Hours will be 9:00am - 5:30pm with some flexibility required. This position will work rotating weekends as well. Experience in an Emergency Department setting is strongly preferred. This position will primarily support the Emergency Department but will also rotate through the Central Pharmacy as necessary.

Other
Three years of experience or completion of PGY2 can be substituted for the 3 years of experience. BLS required within six months of hire. Will consider pharmacists not licensed in Virginia due to relocation. Must have Virginia license within 90 days of Sentara start date.

Responsibilities:

Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with the medical staff approved clinical practice standards. Maintains current knowledge of drug use through continuing education. Serves as the primary resource for drug information within the hospital. Assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders. Precepts pharmacy students as assigned.
