Registered Nurses are the backbone of our organization. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital has recently expanded, and built three floors with state of the art technology! As an academic teaching hospital with Magnet status, we are hiring compassionate RNs to join an expanding team to make a positive difference in the health of patients. Oncology Inpatient Unit, Post Surgical Unit treating Back and Neck patients, Intermediate Care/Stepdown Units treating trauma and stroke patients.

Hiring Experienced RNs with acute care and skilled, long term care experience. New graduates seeking an awesome Nurse Residency Program are encouraged to apply. Positions begin within 2 weeks, Full Time, Part Time, PRN and Weekend, Day and Night Shifts exist. Classroom and unit orientation. New Hire Education Requirement: All new RN's who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within 24 months of hire and successfully obtaining their BSN within 5 years of hire. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU/EP/Advanced Heart Failure Center/SMG Cardiology Practices- ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
